Lakshadweep Samudram Ship packages 2021 Booking ( Availability Last Updated 12.26 am on 28th November 2021)
Customers can try booking for Waiting List Under Samudram Package Tickets by Registering with agents. They do collect some amount as advance for the same. If tickets seems to be available, balance payment can be made on the spot. Usually Government releases unused tickets 10-12 days before the trip date.
For 2017 season onwards, Ship used to operate Samudram Package is MV KAVARATTI. The ship MV Kavaratti is a fully air conditioned first class passenger cum cargo ship with a capacity of 700 passengers intake and do have First class (FC) cabin ( 2 persons/ cabin with an attached toilet) and Second class (SC) cabin ( 4 persons per cabin with an attached toilet) and bunk berths. Usually 182 seats are reserved for SAMUDRAM package passengers in cabins. Rest of the seats are allocated for normal passengers including people from island as well as main land. M V Kavaratti have got a cafeteria, snack bars, doctor on call facility, entertainments, upper-deck promenade, swimming pool and a helipad.
HIGHLIGHTS OF SAMUDRAM PACKAGE BY SHIP TO LAKSHADWEEP:
1) No. of days: 4 Nights 5 Days program from Kochi- Kochi covering 3 islands at a Lakshadweep.
2) Stay during Package: Accommodation is provided in ship cabins as per choice (2 person or 4 person cabins). Kindly note that, Samudram packages do not have any stay option in island beach resorts.
3) Meals in ship & islands: All meals included on board starting from Day 1 lunch to Day 5 breakfast including evening Tea on all days.
4) Water Sports Activities: Water sports activities namely Kayaking, Snorkeling and under glass boat ride are included in the package for 1 time.

Yes. You can book with authorized Samudram agents like Island Getaways Kochi, Thomas Cook, Asoka Travels, etc… In fact booking through authorized agents will get better service than through government directly at NO extra costs.
10) What are the extra advantages for booking Samudram package with authorized agents?

Yes. You can get the same LTC certificate issued by Government of India valid PAN India if booked through authorized private agencies too.
13) Entry Permits and Heritage Fees: All entry permits and heritage fess are included in the package fares.
14) Taxes and GST: All government taxes are included in the package fare.
15) Complimentary items: SPORTS complimentary T shirt and a cap are provided for all tourists
16) General Ship Schedule: Weekly 01 trip Schedule is arranged for SAMUDRAM Package from Kochi by ship. Samudram package available from September 15- January second week & March first week to Mid of May.
17) Charge for Adults and Children: All persons above 10 years are considered as Adults and charged on adult rate. Children from 1-10 years are considered as child. No charge for children from 0-1 years.
18) Documents Required: Valid ID copy with passport size photograph of all tourists. Infants require copy of birth certificate.
19) Should we reach Kochi on Same day of travel: Its up to you. The check in time for boarding at ship passenger terminal at Kochi is 9.30 am and it closes by 10.30 am. Kochi international airport is 1 hr from ship terminal (excluding high traffic) and Ernakulam (Kochi) main railway stations are nearly 20- 30 minutes from ship passenger terminal. So depending on your arrival flight/ train time, you can decide whether to arrive on day of travel or 1 day prior.
20) At what time we should take return flight/ train after Samudram: After Samudram package, you will be back to Kochi by 8.30 am. Considering any delay due to unpredictable reasons, it is always safe to take a return ticket from Kochi to your home destination afternoon.
21) Is it safe for Single Ladies to travel under Samudram Package: Absolutely Yes as it’s a package by Government of India. Try to book through an authorized agent for Samudram Package like island getaways Kochi, Thomas Cook, Asoka Travels, etc… as they can help in getting a co passenger as another single lady or kids in your cabin. Direct booking with government sports website do not have any liberty to get any extra help even before and after booking.
22) Do people have motion sickness in ship during Samudram Package: Yes. Some passengers may have motion sickness issues on day 1. But you need not worry as there is a resident doctor inside the ship for all help and emergencies. Motion sickness automatically disappears by day 2 when our body get adjusted with ship movements.

Government of India Order to hike Samudram Package Fare
DAY WISE ITINERARY FOR 4N/5D LAKSHADWEEP SAMUDRAM PACKAGE BY SHIP: 
Day 1 Departure from Kochi : REPORTING TIME: 9.30 am-10 am. LOCATION: Lakshadweep Wharf and passenger facilitation center, Indira Gandhi Road, Willington Island, Kochi. You can collect the boarding pass from the SPORTS Manager, Lakshadweep Tourism. Carry a valid photo ID proof of all passengers (please note that for infants – birth certificate is required). After getting boarding pass and security check 9 almost similar to airports), you will be taken in bus to ship boarding at wharf to board MV Kavaratti. Once boarded and settled into cabins, short instructional video will be screened giving details about rules and regulations to be obeyed for the safety of self and other co passengers. 10:00 am to 11.45 am: Boarding/Embarkation to MV Kavaratti, Inspection of ship and departure by 2pm. 01.00 pm to 01.45 pm: Lunch (Buffet separately for Veg and Non Veg) 03.30 pm to 04.00 pm: Evening Tea with Snacks 08.00 pm to 08.45 pm: Dinner (Buffet separately for Veg and Non Veg.

Alcohol not permitted on islands but the restriction also applies on board the ship at night when it is sailing?
Alcohols are not permitted even in Ships/ Flights to Lakshadweep while travelling too.
Alcohol available at Lakshadweep only at Bangaram Island resorts ( that too not always).

I need information on availability and it says that all samudram packages are in “Waiting List”. I have tried contacting SPORTS directly on their numbers but can’t connect since last 3-4 hours. Most of the time it says line busy, when it does ring, no one picks up.

SPORTS being a government office , you can expect delays.
Same delay even reflected with private agents too as they too taking from SPORTS.
How ever some agents have reserved quotas.

Dear Alok,
Lakshadweep is an expensive destination. But you can also visit Lakshadweep as a normal traveller in Ship. But many formalities.
First of all they issue tickets only for those who have permit to entry. For permit, you need a confirmed accommodation at SPORTS resorts ( Which are very expensive like Rs. 7000-15000/ night for a double occupancy) OR you need a sponsorship from a person inside island and you have to stay at his home.
You can also opt for budget package starting from Rs. 21500/ person including to and fro flight tickets from Kochi with entry permit.

I have booked 10-14th, Jan 2018 Samudram package,how to get confirmation, what is the last destination for claiming LTC, and Entry permit formalities in advance.

sir we are planning to take samudram package this year. will it be possible for my mother who is 75 years of age to join us. Though she is hale and healthy she cannot walk very comfortably. my query is do we have lifts in the ship and secondly will be she comfortable hopping from ship to boats and vice versa. She may not be able to lift her legs for an elevations of more than 6 inches. I solicit your kind reply.
Age is not an issue and even people above 80 years were there in last cruise.
Since there are no proper embarkation Jetty’s in Lakshadweep like Kochi, she may find difficulty during hopping off at islands.
But if she is ok, authorities will help.
Suggested best option for your family is to take a relaxed Lakshadweep package using flight from Kochi.
You can stay at private beach house -Agatti and even visit most beautiful islands like Bangaram and Thinnakara.

Samudram Package get closed by May 2018.
During Monsoon Season, You can opt for Agatti Private beach house stay package. Bangaram can be accessed only through Helicopters ( Subject to availability) during Monsoon.
