There are 4 ways for a person from Non Island can enter into Lakshadweep:

Option 1: How to Reach Lakshadweep as a Tourist via Ship Package

There are Ship package to Lakshadweep by Government of India known as Samudram Package and Swaying Palm package from October to May with fixed date departure.

For Samudram Package- 4 Nights 5 Days, Fare/ person including all taxes is Rs. 26250.

Documents Required: 
1) Valid ID card copy and passport size photographs (3 no’s)

Advantages:
1) Both Indians and Foreigners can travel.

2) Compared to flight package it’s cheap.

3) Some of the water sports activities are included in the package

4) No Special Entry permit required. Permit issued by SPORTS authorities along with boarding pass.

Dis Advantages:
1) Improper schedules. Even they cancel the ship when you are ready to board from Kochi without any prior notice.

2) Very difficult to get the same.

3) Long travel hours like 18 hours one side.

4) For Samudram package, stay is inside ship only.

5) Its a part of group tour along with 150-200 tourists.

6) Very little time for water sports activities.

Option 2: How to Reach Lakshadweep Through Government Resorts and Tents and Travel by Flight or Ship
If you book accommodation in Government stays (resorts and tents), then we can reach Lakshadweep by flight or ship and enjoy as a package. Local transport is done by speed boats or high speed catamarans (HSC). Government resorts by SPORTS available at Bangaram, Thinnakara, Kavaratti, Kadmat and Minicoy.

Some important things should be noted are Speed boat/ HSC/ ferry service available on only some days like on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from Agatti ( the island which as airport) to other islands namely Kavaratti and Kadmat. Also flight not available on Sundays. So book the resorts accordingly. For resort packages, its highly advisable to reach Lakshadweep from main island by flight as to get ship tickets as a normal passenger its difficult.

Option 3: How to Reach Lakshadweep Through a Local Sponsor and Travel by Flight / Ship ( Best choice for couples and family groups within budget)
